Vlora’s new international airport set to open by summer 2025

August 9, 2024 - Albania’s newest international airport, located near the coastal city of Vlora, is set to open in the summer of 2025. This new gateway is expected to play a key role in boosting tourism and connecting the country to more global destinations. Prime Minister Edi Rama shared the news today, along with a video update on the airport’s construction. According to Rama, the runway will be ready for European certification tests by the end of this year. “This is an exciting time for Albania,” he said, pointing out that the airport will soon welcome its first passengers.   Vlora International Airport is Albania’s third airport capable of handling transoceanic flights, joining Tirana and Kukës in the effort to strengthen the country’s travel infrastructure. The project kicked off back in April 2021 when the construction contract was signed. Since then, it’s drawn significant attention from both locals and international observers, as Albania continues to rise as a destination on the global tourism map.https://english.gazetatema.net/economy/vloras-new-international-airport-set-to-open-by-summer-2025-i336213

Backed by our fresh, in-depth market analysis, we’re confident that Albania is becoming an attractive destination for both local and international property investors. While there are challenges such as inflation and potential political instability, the main drivers behind Albania’s property price growth remain strong. Demand, particularly in coastal and urban areas, continues to outpace supply, making significant price drops unlikely. Additionally, Albania's growing tourism sector and improving infrastructure are drawing more interest from buyers. Signals pointing to a property price increase in Albania Here are some factors suggesting prices could increase: Albania's economy is projected to grow steadily in 2025, boosting consumer confidence and increasing the purchasing power of potential homebuyers, which is likely to drive up property prices. The Albanian government is expected to continue implementing policies that attract foreign investment, particularly in the real estate sector, which could lead to increased demand and higher property prices. Tourism in Albania is on the rise, with more international visitors discovering the country's natural beauty and cultural heritage. This trend is expected to continue in 2025, increasing demand for holiday homes and investment properties. Infrastructure improvements, such as new roads and transportation links, are planned for 2025, enhancing accessibility to key areas and potentially increasing property values in those regions.
